About the federation
The Belize Chess Federation is the governing body for chess in Belize. We run the national championships, keep the ratings, train arbiters and select the teams that represent Belize abroad.
Our mission
To grow chess in every district of Belize: run fair, rated events, train coaches and arbiters, and give young players a path to international play.
The federation sanctions tournaments, publishes the rating list and selects national teams for the Chess Olympiad and youth events.
It is run by an elected council of volunteers. Clubs and schools affiliate to the federation, and players join as members.
Our vision
A chess board in every school and a Belizean title holder at the Olympiad.
